Zenith Bank Plc has introduced a Visa Signature Card targeted at premium and globally mobile customers, as it shifts its offering toward access-driven financial services in Nigeria’s high-end banking segment.
The bank, in collaboration with Visa, said the card is designed to support seamless local and international transactions while providing access to travel, lifestyle and security benefits for customers whose financial activities increasingly span multiple markets.
Group Managing Director, Dame Dr. Adaora Umeoji, speaking at the launch in Lagos on Monday said the initiative reflects the bank’s focus on innovation and evolving customer needs.
“This partnership with Visa reflects Zenith Bank’s commitment to delivering premium, globally relevant solutions that meet the lifestyle and financial needs of our affluent customers. The Zenith Visa Signature card will ensure that our customers enjoy greater convenience, flexibility and value wherever they are in the world.”
She added that the bank will continue to leverage technology and partnerships to deliver improved service and long-term value to customers.
Zenith Bank also stated that the product reinforces its position in premium banking, as competition intensifies for high-value customers and value-added services.
Vice President and Cluster Head, West Africa at Visa, Andrew Uaboi, said the collaboration signals a shift from basic transactional cards to solutions that deliver broader customer value.
“This represents a transition from traditional card products to services that offer real value,” he said.
“The card provides access to global premium programmes, travel benefits, concierge services and exclusive offers designed for an aspirational customer base, he added.”
According to him, the product is positioned as a flagship within Zenith Bank’s premium segment, offering customers access to international services beyond payments.
Head of Card Services at Zenith Bank, Celestina Appeal, said the card integrates lifestyle, convenience and protection features into everyday banking. “It is more than a payment tool. Cardholders gain access to a premium ecosystem that includes travel privileges, purchase protection and personalised support services,” she said.
She noted that the offering includes access to global airport lounge programmes, luxury hotel partnerships, travel discounts, exclusive event access, and protection against online fraud and transaction risks.
On cross-border support and security, Senior Vice President, Central and West Africa at Visa, Aminata Kane, said the card is backed by global assistance services designed to support users wherever they are.
“If a card is lost or stolen abroad, a replacement can be arranged quickly, and emergency cash support is available to ensure customers are not stranded,” she said.
Kane added that cardholders also have access to concierge services that can assist with travel bookings, events and other requests, as well as digital payment options including virtual and contactless transactions.
The bank said its role in the partnership centres on customer engagement and product design, while Visa provides the global payments infrastructure enabling secure transactions across millions of merchants worldwide.
It added that the initiative is part of a broader effort to expand access to international payment systems for Nigerian customers, as demand grows for financial services that support increasingly global lifestyles.
