Rapper Dremo has disclosed why he quit Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), claiming that the record label’s administration prioritised the CEO, singer Davido, over other artists.
In a recent interview with Echo Room, the rapper said that management’s fixation on Davido hampered the success of other musicians on the label.
“I didn’t collaborate with Idowest, who was my label mate and fellow rapper, because at that time we were all striving to stay afloat in the music industry.
“Even DMW as a whole didn’t collaborated much, we never had a record label album. The management focused only on Davido,” he said.
Dremo also revealed that DMW didn’t meet his expectations.
“The label [DMW] didn’t give me money. It was like a platform. I didn’t get what I wanted from the label,” he said.
The rapper said his experience with DMW has made him choose to remain an independent artist.
