Cross River State-born Edem Ekpo Asuquo, aka D Sweet, has emerged winner of the maiden edition of the OKF Television Reality Show, beating 15 other contestants to clinch the coveted title, after weeks of competition, training and personal development activities.
Speaking shortly after being announced winner, an excited Asuquo described the victory as both a surprise and a dream come true. He attributed his success to God, determination and self-belief, noting that although the journey was challenging, he remained confident throughout the competition.
“I am overwhelmed with joy and grateful to God. Winning was not easy, but I always believed I would emerge victorious. Before the final announcement, my heart was beating very fast, but deep down I knew I could win,” he said.
Asuquo pledged to serve as a worthy ambassador of the reality show and promised to promote the platform globally. He also extended appreciation to the organisers for providing him with an opportunity that has transformed his life.
According to him, the experience of living with contestants from different backgrounds helped him develop valuable interpersonal skills and broadened his understanding of teamwork, tolerance and leadership.
“This programme brought me out of my shell. I learnt how to accommodate people from diverse backgrounds and live peacefully with others. It was my first reality television show and I have no regrets participating,” he added.
First runner-up, Oluwadamilare Ojo, popularly known as “Child of Grace,” described his participation in the show as a life-changing experience. He said the programme exposed him to new opportunities and helped him discover talents he never knew he possessed.
Ojo revealed that during his stay in the house, he received training in acting, stand-up comedy, music and public speaking, all of which contributed to boosting his confidence and personal growth.
“I learnt the importance of always giving my best and striving to become a better version of myself. This competition taught me confidence, resilience and the value of hard work,” he said.
A representative of the organisers, Dr. Victory Emuejekarohwo, expressed satisfaction with the impact of the programme on the contestants. He noted that the reality show was designed not only as a competition but also as a platform for grooming young talents and equipping them with life skills.
He urged all participants to continue supporting one another and to put into practice the lessons learnt during their stay in the house.
