Following weeks of intense competition that tested the creativity, resilience and emotional strength of contestants, Ola-Aluko Jeremiah aka AJ, has emerged winner of NollyHood reality TV show Beach Edition season 2.
AJ triumphed over 32 other contestants to clinch the top prize, which includes a car and rewards worth ₦15 million.
Reflecting on his journey, the University of Benin Theatre Arts graduate described the experience as “amazing and life-changing,” noting that life in the House was filled with a mix of emotions, ranging from excitement and happiness to moments of anger and pressure.
According to the aspiring actor and voice-over artiste, the platform provided him with valuable exposure, enabling him to explore new opportunities within the entertainment industry.
“The experience has significantly boosted my confidence and ability to take risk, qualities I believe are necessary for success.
The show taught me that sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone to make progress,” he said.
AJ intends to build a strong career while also giving back to society, a value emphasized by the show’s organisers.
On her part, first runner-up, Favor Elebuwe aka FC, described her time on the show as rewarding and transformative. She noted that the experience helped her overcome shyness and develop confidence in front of the camera.
“Before, I found it difficult to express myself, but now I can speak boldly and confidently,” the 1st runner-up said.
Elebuwe, who spent 25 days in the House alongside 32 other contestants, expressed gratitude to her supporters, acknowledging their role in her success. She also commended the organisers for their mentorship and for fulfilling their promise of featuring her in a movie.
Currently on set for a film project, Elebuwe said she is focused on advancing her acting career and hopes to establish her own production outfit in the future.
Second runner-up, Ada Orji aka Chocolate, described her journey as both challenging and enlightening. She said living with individuals from diverse backgrounds required patience and adaptability but ultimately helped her grow.
“It made me more outspoken, organized and focused,” she stated.
Although, Orji did not win the grand prize, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity and reaffirmed her determination to succeed.
A travel consultant and aspiring actor, Orji plans to intensify her efforts in the entertainment industry while also exploring her interest in music.
The second edition of the NollyHood show brought together contestants from different parts of Nigeria, highlighting emerging talents and providing a platform for personal and professional development.
Participants praised the organisers for fostering unity and equipping them with skills to navigate the entertainment industry. As the curtain falls on the season, the finalists are already setting their sights on bigger opportunities, signaling the emergence of new voices in Nigeria’s creative space.
