From Isaac Job, Uyo

Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno has received the feasibility report on the Ibom Deep Sea project and assured residents that the project would be executed despite negative remarks from naysayers.

Eno said the Ibom Deep Sea project was initiated over 20 years ago and insisted that his administration would ensure its continuation and speedy execution.

Receiving the report from the technical committee headed by former Director-General of NIMASA, Mrs Mfon Usoro, Eno commended the committee for their detailed and professional work, adding that their dedication and commitment would enhance the success of the project.

Eno paid tribute to past leaders of the state who laid a solid foundation for the project, including former Governor Victor Attah, Senate President and former Governor Godswill Akpabio, as well as immediate past Governor Udom Emmanuel.

He warned against politicising the project, emphasising that deep seaport development is “not a sprint but a marathon race”.
