The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government Council, Princess Surah Animashaun, has declared support for the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.
In a statement made available to PUNCH Online on Saturday, Animashaun made the declaration during a caucus meeting with stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress held at the council secretariat in Ita-Marun, Epe.
According to her, the endorsement followed consultations with serving and former members of the House of Assembly, House of Representatives members, APC leaders, and other stakeholders in Epe division.
“As a Chairman of Epe Local Government Council Area and the custodians of grassroots governance, we are indeed the closest arm of government to the people. We feel their pains, understand their aspirations, and work daily to translate government policies into real impact at the community level,” she said.
Animashaun commended Tinubu’s administration for reforms in local government autonomy, infrastructure, security, agriculture, and economic management, saying the policies were already making positive impacts in communities.
“These policies are not mere promises, they are realities that are transforming lives in our communities and creating safer environments for economic and social activities,” she added.
She formally declared the caucus’ “total, unwavering, and unconditional support” for Tinubu’s second-term ambition in 2027.
The council chairperson also announced support for House of Representatives member Hon. Wale Tasir Raji and Lagos State House of Assembly member Hon. Abiodun Mustain Tobun for another term in office.
Animashaun urged APC leaders, former chairmen, councillors, ward leaders, and grassroots mobilisers across Epe division to begin mobilisation efforts ahead of the next general election.
“We must organise, mobilise, and enlighten our people. We must take this message to every polling unit, every ward, and every household,” she said.
