Content creator Dickson Ruth, popularly known as Prettymamah, has revealed that her widely admired grandma-themed skits were inspired by the humour embedded in everyday life.
Speaking in an interview with Saturday Sun, the skit maker explained: “Portraying grandmother figures allows me to connect easily with audiences while adding a humorous twist to familiar situations. My granny costumes have become a standout feature of my content, especially among my social media followers, who find them both entertaining and relatable.”
Despite the popularity of the grandma persona, Prettymamah said she continues to explore diverse roles and themes to expand her creative range.
Regarding fan reactions, the content creator disclosed that many people are often surprised when they meet her in person, as they expect to see an older woman rather than her youthful, energetic self.
“Some fans even assume that I am a twin due to the multiple characters I portray in skits. I make sure each skit is both amusing and memorable,” she added.
Addressing concerns about a possible creativity slump in Nigeria’s content creation space, Prettymamah acknowledged that while some trends may appear repetitive, creativity thrives on reinvention. She emphasized the importance of innovation, noting that creators must consistently explore fresh ideas and formats to remain relevant.
