Seun Osigbesan, a senior pastor at Gracemade Christian Centre and the husband of Nollywood actress Seun Osigbesan, has publicly praised her resilience and sacrifice, revealing how she single-handedly supported their family financially for several years during a difficult period in their marriage.
In a now-viral video from a church event celebrating her 40th birthday, the pastor described how the Johnsons actress stayed steady and supportive even when he had little to offer financially.
“You know, if I need anything, I am very comfortable to ask her because I know that she will come through.
“Even when I did not have anything, she was consistent and never complained. She carried a lot of burden, real bills, for at least seven years and never complained,” he said.
He noted that beyond financial support, her words of affirmation played a crucial role in sustaining his confidence during that phase.
“She always tells me, ‘Baby, I believe in you, you can do it, you are a great man, you are a millionaire.’
“Now she says, ‘You are a billionaire, we have crossed into billions in Jesus’ name.’ She kept speaking those words into my life, and that kept me going,” the husband added.
The pastor went on to detail the intensity of their suffering, recalling times when the family couldn’t buy basic essentials.
“There was a time in our family when we could not afford diapers, and she used black nylon as diapers for the children. That went on for weeks.
“At a point, what the family ate was pap for breakfast, pap for lunch and pap for dinner. Yet, she never complained,” he said.
According to him, despite the hardship, she never criticised him or expressed frustration over their situation, but instead remained patient and encouraging.
“She never said, ‘What kind of man is this?’ She never made me feel like I was failing. She was just that kind of person, very tolerant and deeply supportive,” he said.
He described her as an extraordinary woman whose strength and faith carried the family through their most trying times, urging members of the congregation to appreciate her.
“I do not know where they made her from, but she is an amazing woman. Please help me thank her,” he said, praying that the next phase of her life would be filled with greater fulfilment and success.
Seun was an integral part of The Johnsons, a Nigerian television series produced by Rogers Ofime that aired on Africa Magic. It centred on a typical Nigerian family in Lagos, Nigeria, and the hardships they confront.
Osigbesan exited the popular television series in 2022 and was ordained as a pastor in 2023, marking a significant step in her spiritual journey alongside her acting career.
