A prominent traditional title holder and convener of the Ajibosin Platform, Kazeem Adeyanju Olanrewaju Bakinson, has endorsed the emergence of Solomon Adeola Olamilekan as a consensus candidate ahead of the 2027 governorship race in Ogun State.

Bakinson also announced plans for the third edition of the Ajibosin Symposium while appealing to former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, for continued support and guidance.

In a statement, the Ajibosin convener described Adeola’s endorsement by key stakeholders as a reflection of growing political maturity in Ogun State, noting that the process was largely devoid of rancour.

He said, “The consensus around Senator Adeola shows a new level of unity and strategic alignment among political actors in the state.”

Bakinson declared his personal support for the lawmaker, expressing confidence in his leadership capacity and grassroots appeal.

He added that youths in Owu Kingdom had commenced mobilisation efforts to galvanise support for Adeola, with plans to deploy door-to-door campaigns.

Speaking on the forthcoming intellectual event, Bakinson disclosed that preparations had begun for the third Ajibosin Symposium, a platform he said promotes policy discourse, cultural preservation and national development.

According to him, the event is scheduled to hold on October 30, 2026, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, with a dinner slated for later the same day.

He further revealed that the Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Ayo Omotayo, would deliver the keynote address.

Bakinson noted that previous editions of the Ajibosin Book of Proceedings were presented during Obasanjo’s 89th birthday celebration, adding that the former president’s encouragement had sustained the initiative.

As part of efforts to expand its global reach, he said copies of the publication would be presented at the forthcoming Odun Omo Olowu Festival in London.

He said the move was aimed at strengthening diaspora engagement and showcasing the cultural and intellectual contributions of Owu Kingdom and Ogun State.

While reaffirming his commitment to the Ajibosin Platform, Bakinson urged Obasanjo to continue providing fatherly support to ensure the success of the symposium and the sustainability of the initiative.

He added that the platform remained dedicated to fostering ideas and contributing meaningfully to national development through dialogue and scholarship.
