
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, on Monday expressed readiness to partner with the University of California, Los Angeles, Sadiat Toyin Lawal Foundation and Tabernacle Worship and Prayer Ministry, California on healthcare delivery in Ibadanland.
Oba Ladoja disclosed this while receiving Toyin Lawal and other representatives of the three non-governmental organisations at his palace in Oke-Aremo, Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State.
He said, “The health of the people of Ibadanland is of paramount importance to me. I will leave no stone unturned to ensure the provision and promotion of the healthy living of residents of the ancient city, for health is wealth.
“Let me use this period to express my readiness to partner with the University of California, Los Angeles, Sadiat Toyin Lawal Foundation and Tabernacle Worship and Prayer Ministry California on the Heath Care Delivery System in Ibadanland.”
The monarch said he had facilitated a meeting between the visiting team and officials of the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board, led by its Executive Secretary, Muideen Olatunji.
According to him, the meeting was necessary to ensure effective collaboration.
Earlier, the leader of the outreach, Toyin Lawal, said the visit was aimed at seeking collaboration with the Olubadan on community health partnerships and outreach for primary health care centres, tertiary hospitals and local governments.
She added that the team planned to donate medical equipment and resources to improve healthcare delivery.
Lawal also said a proposal had been submitted to the palace on health advocacy, education and sensitisation.
Dignitaries at the meeting included the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola; the Otun Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Kolawole Adewole; the Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi; Ashipa Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Amidu Ajibade; Ekerin Olubadan, Oba Adebayo Akande; and Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Mobolaji Adewoyin.
