Several sets of beauty rules exist silently in society and on social media. They appear in spaces, such as offices, classrooms, and even casual settings, where one is expected to look a certain way to be seen as presentable. It is not only about looking fashionable but about fitting into a standard that is rarely openly discussed yet widely recognised.

These expectations are often not spoken about. Hair must be neat, body types are silently judged, makeup should be noticeable but not excessive, and outfits should look simple yet expensive. Even details like scents and accessories are not left out. These rules are not usually openly stated, but they influence how people present themselves and how they are perceived by others.
This raises important questions about who decides what is appropriate and why these standards carry such significance. Recognising their influence is the first step towards redefining beauty in a way that feels more personal and realistic.
