Curvy Nollywood actress, Mary John recently celebrated another year of life, reflecting on her journey, personal growth, and evolving career in the Nigerian film industry.
Speaking with Saturday Sun during her birthday celebration, the Bayelsa State-born actress expressed deep gratitude for life and the progress she has made so far.
“I feel grateful to God for turning a new year. He alone has brought me this far, and I believe He is taking me to a higher and greater place. I feel blessed,” she said.
Looking ahead, the actress noted that her aspirations remain focused on growth and fulfillment, both professionally and personally. She added that her birthday wish is to achieve greater success in her career while enjoying good health and prosperity.

Reflecting on her life experiences, the mother of one emphasized that she holds no regrets, only valuable lessons.
According to her, her journey has taught her the importance of staying focused and not being distracted by external opinions.
“My past has taught me not to listen to outside noise but to focus on my craft, make myself happy, and keep striving to be better,” she said, adding that success often attracts attention that was previously absent.
On speculations about her absence from the screen, the actress clarified that she has remained active, revealing that she has several projects lined up for release. She pointed to productions such as “Like Father, Like Daughter,” currently showing on Chinneylove TV on YouTube, as well as “Family Betrayal” on Lilly Afegbai TV, among others.
Speaking about what it takes to succeed in Nollywood, Mary maintained that talent alone is insufficient in today’s competitive landscape.
“Talent will push you, but connecting with other creatives will open more doors. You also have to be humble, punctual, and willing to learn,” she advised.
Addressing the growing trend of body enhancement among celebrities, the actress took a balanced stance, describing it as a matter of personal choice.
“If you go under the knife to enhance your beauty, good for you, it’s your personal decision. I like to focus on my business and what pays me,” she noted.
