The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations has congratulated an Arise Television correspondent, Dr Friday Olokor, on the conferment of his Doctor of Philosophy degree by the University of Jos.

In a congratulatory message, the institute described Olokor’s academic feat as a testament to focus, resilience and commitment to intellectual rigour, noting that his transition from the newsroom to the academia reflected a rare blend of professional excellence and scholarly depth.

The President of NIPR and Chairman of its Governing Council, Dr Ike Neliaku, who conveyed the institute’s goodwill in a letter to Olokor, said the doctorate underscored the journalist’s dedication to scholarship alongside his contributions to the media profession.

Neliaku stated that Olokor’s achievement was worthy of celebration, stressing that it symbolised the growing importance of intellectual development within the journalism and public communication space.

“Your journey from the newsroom to academic halls demonstrates focus, resilience and academic excellence. This reflects the depth of your scholarship and your commitment to intellectual rigour,” the letter read.

The institute further acknowledged Olokor’s contributions to journalism and scholarship, describing the doctorate as a significant milestone in his professional career.

NIPR wished the Arise correspondent continued success in his future endeavours, reaffirming its support for practitioners who combine media practice with academic advancement.
