Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has broken his silence over the controversy surrounding an alleged altercation with DJ Tunez, insisting that he acted alone during the incident.
Speaking with Shallipopi during an Instagram Live session, the Afrobeats artist refuted rumours that his crew members engaged in any physical altercation, calling them false.
According to Burna Boy, no one from his team touched DJ Tunez, stressing that he personally handled the situation and even prevented others from intervening.
“No be say my crew touch am. Na only me… I tell everybody make nobody touch am,” he said, adding that he slapped the DJ twice.
He maintained that the encounter was strictly between himself and DJ Tunez, noting that although the DJ arrived at the venue with a group, nothing further happened as he waited for a possible escalation that never occurred.
The singer also alleged that members of the opposing group fled upon seeing him.
Burna Boy went on to contrast both camps, suggesting that while Wizkid and his team wield influence online, his own camp operates with what he described as “real-life power.”
The controversy follows days of online reactions after DJ Tunez claimed via social media that he was attacked from behind during the incident, with Wizkid later posting a message widely interpreted as a subtle jab, further fuelling tensions.
