A frontline aspirant for the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, has formally flagged off her campaign, unveiling an agenda centred on economic revival, job creation, and inclusive representation.
Adeleye declared her ambition on Wednesday at Ajuwon/Akute Ward 6 in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, at a meeting attended by party executives, grassroots mobilisers, and key stakeholders.
Speaking at the gathering presided over by the Ward Chairman, Kabir Ajibola, the aspirant said commencing her campaign from her ward symbolised her enduring connection with the grassroots and her commitment to people-driven leadership.
Describing her ambition as a call to service, Adeleye said her decision to contest was informed by the need to respond to the growing demand for effective representation and equitable development in the constituency.
“This is a gathering of leaders, grassroots mobilisers, youths, women, and stakeholders united by a shared vision for progress. It marks the beginning of a renewed commitment to purposeful leadership,” she said.
Unveiling her agenda, Adeleye placed strong emphasis on economic empowerment, particularly for youths and women, noting that sustainable growth could only be achieved through deliberate investment in people and local enterprises.
“Central to my plans is the prioritisation of economic empowerment and job creation. We will support small and medium-scale enterprises, promote vocational training, and attract investments that will stimulate local industries,” she stated.
She added that empowering residents economically remained key to reducing poverty and ensuring stability across communities in Ifo/Ewekoro.
The aspirant also pledged to champion policies and projects that would bridge development gaps and deliver tangible benefits to constituents, while ensuring that governance remains participatory and responsive.
“Representation must be inclusive. The voices of the people must be heard and reflected in decision-making processes,” she added.
Adeleye, who is currently serving as a commissioner in Ogun State, expressed appreciation to Governor Dapo Abiodun for the opportunity to serve and for infrastructural projects executed in the area, particularly road developments in Ajuwon/Akute.
She noted that the constituency required leadership that understands its diversity and economic potential, pledging to harness its strengths for sustainable development.
Dignitaries at the event included the Local Government party Chairman, Oduwole Olumide; an Ogun Central senatorial aspirant, Otunba Muraina Banjoko; as well as other state assembly hopefuls and party stalwarts.
