Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has formally submitted his governorship nomination form under the All Progressives Congress signalling his bid for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The nomination form was submitted on Monday at the Sheraton Abuja Hotel, where the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, received it on behalf of the party.
Speaking during the presentation, Argungu commended Governor Idris’ leadership style, particularly in infrastructure and human development, saying his performance had strengthened confidence in the party’s chances in Kebbi State.
“The APC is proud to have a leader like you. Your impact on both infrastructure and human development in Kebbi State is evident.
“We are confident in your ability to secure victory in 2027. This is reality, not speculation” he said.
Responding on behalf of the governor, Kebbi State Deputy Governor, Abubakar Umar-Tafida, expressed appreciation to the party leadership for its support and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to ongoing development projects across the state.
He said Governor Idris remained focused on consolidating the achievements already recorded since assuming office.
The deputy governor also urged residents of Kebbi State to continue supporting the administration, assuring them of more dividends of democracy if re-elected.
The governor was accompanied by top party stakeholders and government officials, including the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Bagudu, former lawmakers Adamu Aliero and Yahaya Abdullahi, among others.
The submission of the nomination form marks a key step in Idris’ bid to secure a second term and continue his administration’s development agenda in Kebbi State.
