The much anticipated new Eado has finally arrived, joining an array of Changan sedans, SUVs and pick-ups Mikano Motors is providing in the various segments of Nigeria’s auto market.
It is now a more attractive, 1.5-litre, stylish and practical sedan engineered for everyday driving confidence.
Designed with a clear focus on reliability, comfort and efficiency, the new Changan Eado blends modern aesthetics with intelligent technology, delivering a refined driving experience tailored to Nigeria’s dynamic urban and intercity roads.
Interestingly, with only a few days of display at Mikano Motors’ magnificent showroom in Victoria Island, Lagos, Eado’s competitive price, generous warranty and after-sales package are prompting predictions that the new car has what it takes to make Nigerians shun imported used (Tokunbo) vehicles.
A modern sedan for everyday driving
The all-new Eado embodies a bold design philosophy, combining clean lines, a striking front grille, and a distinctive LED lighting signature that ensures a commanding presence on the road.
From its 17-inch alloy wheels to its heated and folding mirrors, every exterior detail reflects a balance of form and function.
Inside, the cabin offers a thoughtfully designed, driver-focused environment. Premium leather seats, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a streamlined centre console create a modern, comfortable space. Rear air vents and a power-adjustable driver’s seat further enhance passenger comfort, making every journey enjoyable.
Threat to used-car segment
Sedan lovers who saw the new Eado on display at the Mikano Motors’ showroom in Lagos, were of the opinion that at last, the car that will make imported Tokunbo vehicles unattractive, has finally hit the Nigerian market.
This is mainly because at the price of N25 million (VAT exclusive), who would shun a brand new car with six-year or 200,000-kilometre warranty and lifelong aftersales back-up, and opt for a used Tokunbo of N15 million?
With Eado buyers enjoying the benefit of Mikano Motors’ reputation of not being merely a trading firm, but a full-service automotive partner, offering comprehensive after-sales infrastructure that includes warranty coverage, spare parts availability, and dedicated customer support, Tokunbo will no longer be attractive to a discerning buyer.
This is also predicated on the promise by Mikano Motors management: “We provide assistance for our customers—from roadside support to technical service. From the day a customer purchases a vehicle, whether a sedan, SUV, or pick-up, we remain accessible at all times.”
This peace of mind enjoyed by Eado and other Changan vehicle owners, is something the Tokunbo owners merely dream of, but never get.
“If I have about N15 million for a Tokunbo car that will be giving me problems from time to time, won’t it be much better for me to source a little more fund and buy the peace of mind which Eado represents. Or better still, go for the Mikano Motors-Autochek offer,” an admirer of the car said at the showroom.
He was apparently referring to the Mikano Motors-Autochek Africa partnership through which customers purchase Changan vehicles with smart financing that allows structured payment over an agreed number of years.
Efficient performance, smooth driving
Powered by a 1.5-litre engine delivering 109 horsepower and 152 Nm of torque, the Eado is engineered for responsive acceleration and steady performance. Its 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) ensures smooth and efficient gear shifts, while a well-tuned suspension system—featuring McPherson struts in front and a torsion beam at the rear—offers stability and comfort across varying road conditions.
Smart technology, seamless connectivity
The Eado comes equipped with advanced convenience and entertainment features designed for modern lifestyles. A 10-inch infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside Bluetooth connectivity and a multifunction steering wheel for intuitive control. Additional features such as keyless entry and start, cruise control, remote engine start, and a sunroof elevate the overall driving experience.
Safety
Safety remains a top priority in the Eado’s design. The sedan is equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety systems, including Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Hill Assist Control, tyre pressure monitoring, rear parking sensors, and a rear-view camera.
Multiple airbags and an electronic parking brake with auto hold further reinforce driver and passenger protection.
Built on legacy of innovation
Manufactured by Changan Automobile, one of China’s leading automotive brands with a heritage dating back to 1862, the Eado reflects decades of engineering excellence and a commitment to quality, safety, and innovation.
Unmatched after-sales support
Mikano Motors is reinforcing customer confidence with an industry-leading six-year or 200,000-kilometre warranty—one of the most comprehensive in the Nigerian market. Customers also benefit from a robust after-sales support network across key cities, including Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano, and Ikeja (Lagos)..
Reiterating its commitment to customer satisfaction through a statement recently, the company said, “At Mikano Motors, we are dedicated to delivering not just vehicles, but complete ownership peace of mind. The new Changan Eado represents our promise of quality, reliability, and long-term value.”
All eye on Eado
As an affordable, subcompact family sedan, the new Changan Eado has been attracting attention at the Mikano Motors showroom in Lagos (as well as others in parts of the country).
Mikano Motors, a division of Mikano International Limited, is a leading automotive distributor in Nigeria, offering a growing portfolio of globally recognised brands backed by strong after-sales service and customer support.
