Nollywood actress and fashion entrepreneur, Ebun Hodo, recently recounted the story of her birth and the profound influence of her late grandmother, whose passing was recently announced.
The founder of Hodees Clothing Brand shared the emotional experience while reflecting on her upbringing and how she was almost aborted.
According to the actress, her mother initially decided against having more children because of challenges in her marriage after having two kids, “but my grandmother persisted in her desire for a female grandchild. She repeatedly mounted pressure on my mother to give her heart’s desire,” she stated.
Fate, Hodo revealed, ultimately intervened when her mother became pregnant without realizing it. By the time the pregnancy was discovered, it was already advanced, making it impossible to terminate.
“She attempted to abort me but to no avail, so she was forced to keep the pregnancy. When she finally gave birth, my grandmother took me in without hesitation, declaring that I was the long-awaited child she had prayed for. I lived with her all my life. She raised and nurtured me until I was old enough to stand on my own,” the actress recalled.
Paying tribute to her late grandmother, Ebun described her as a strong and selfless woman whose impact on her life remains immeasurable.
She expressed gratitude for the sacrifices made on her behalf while praying for the peaceful repose of her soul.
“Thank you so much, grandmother, for all you have done for me. Rest peacefully, warrior. I love you so much, but God loves you more,” she said.
