President Bola Tinubu on Monday reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to end banditry and terrorism across the country, assuring Nigerians that ongoing security operations would ultimately restore peace and stability.

The President gave the assurance in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, during a one-day visit to commission projects executed by Governor Umaru Fintiri.

Tinubu, who acknowledged the security challenges confronting parts of the country, expressed confidence in the capacity of the Armed Forces to defeat criminal elements threatening national security.

“We are grateful to the Nigerian Armed Forces for their commitment to liberating Nigeria from banditry and insurgency. Together, we will win,” he said.

The Commander-in-Chief pledged sustained support for the military and other security agencies, assuring them of the Federal Government’s backing in the discharge of their constitutional duties.

He also called on state governors and citizens to collaborate with security agencies to enhance safety across communities.

“We continue to encourage our governors; we will call on citizens to offer them maximum cooperation in developing their states and the country at large,” Tinubu added.

“As your leader, I assure you of my continuous service and sacrifice. Nigeria is ours to develop.”
Praise for Ribadu

The President used the occasion to commend the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, describing him as courageous and committed to the fight against insecurity.

Ribadu, a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, hails from Adamawa State.

Tinubu said visible progress was being recorded under the current security architecture.

“I must say clearly that you are doing an excellent job and we are seeing the results,” the President said. “With you, we will defeat the bandits and terrorists. You are honest, bold, courageous, and committed to the job.”

He added that both Adamawa State and the nation at large were proud of Ribadu’s contributions to national security.
Commendation for Fintiri

Tinubu also lauded Governor Fintiri for infrastructural projects undertaken in the state, describing them as critical to development and improved living standards for residents.

The President’s visit comes amid renewed military offensives in parts of the North-East and North-West, where troops have intensified operations against insurgents and bandits.

He reiterated that his administration would not relent until every part of the country is secured and citizens can pursue their livelihoods without fear.

“Our determination is unwavering,” Tinubu said. “We will flush out the enemies of Nigeria and secure our future.”
