Emerging Nigerian singer and songwriter Dumochiii, born Olufowora Michael Seun, has officially stepped into the music scene with the release of his debut single, “Jasi.”

Hailing from Surulere, Lagos, Dumochiii is the latest artiste to emerge from the talent incubator of emPawa Africa, where he spent the last two years undergoing artiste development. Known for his introspective lyrics and spiritual themes, Dumochiii brings a fresh voice to the Afropop and Afrobeats landscape.

His sound which he describes as Afroadura is deeply influenced by the realities of life in Lagos, blending street-rooted storytelling with emotional and spiritual undertones. “Jasi”, his first official release, reflects this approach. The song, inspired by Psalm 121, is described by the artiste as a personal prayer and a message of endurance in the face of hardship.

‘Jasi’ is me talking to God, asking for help when it feels like no one else gets what I’m going through. It’s about believing that my time will come, even when it’s hard and staying thankful regardless,” he said.

The accompanying visualizer, filmed at Tarkwa Bay, offers a snapshot of calm and reflection — a quiet weekend moment in contrast to the bustling city life that shaped much of Dumochiii’s perspective.

Before joining emPawa, Dumochiii built his musical foundation through freestyle sessions and music camps. With “Jasi”, he introduces himself as a new wave artist intent on making meaningful connections with Gen Z and Afrobeats audiences across Nigeria and beyond. “Jasi” is now streaming on all major digital platforms.
