The Executive Chairman of Imeko-Afon Local Government, Hon. Theophilus Aremu Olorode, has announced the completion of a series of infrastructural and social development projects across the council area, which are set to be commissioned by the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Tuesday, September 30.
The projects, described by the council boss as “transformative and people-focused,” include the construction and renovation of blocks of classrooms, boreholes, lock-up shops, and blocks of offices.
Others are the installation of solar power systems, extensive grading of rural roads, and other community-driven initiatives.
According to a statement signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations of the council, Mr. Ayoola Obadimu, the Governor and his entourage will tour several communities where the projects have been executed.
The communities include Agberiodo, Iwoye-Ketu, Oke-Agbede, Ata-Idofa, Ilara, Imeko-Afon, and Owode-Idi Ayin.
Obadimu added that the visit would culminate in a grand finale at the council secretariat, where a special empowerment programme will be launched for residents of the local government.
Olorode said the projects were executed in line with his administration’s commitment to improving the living conditions of the people at the grassroots.
“We are committed to ensuring that every community in Imeko-Afon feels the impact of government through meaningful projects. These interventions are meant to touch lives, boost economic activities, and create opportunities for our people,” Olorode stated.
The council urged traditional rulers, stakeholders, and opinion leaders across the local government to attend the commissioning ceremony and the empowerment programme in solidarity with the administration’s efforts.
