FG don announce new minimum wage plan for civil servants

Di Federal Government FG  announce say plans dey in place to implement improved minimum wage package for civil servants by di second quarter of 2024.

This update come from di Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, for di Nigeria Labour Congress’ 13th National Delegates’ Conference for Abuja.

Di former Anambra state governor yarn say necessary provisions dey ground to make am reality.

According to Ngige, FG don put plans in place to review and implement new minimum wage for Nigerian civil servants on or before May 2024 wey dem don announce.

Although he maintain say di trade unions no get rights to force di federal government on what decisions to take.

During di conference, di former Anambra state governor call out organised labour and other trade unions. Hin say make dem stop di act of imposing dia will on di government.

Also, he yarn say di attitude and actions of di trade unions contradict di statutory codes of di Trade Union Act. That act mandate all newly elected trade union officials to take required courses for di Michael Imuodu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS)
