Election Tribunal dismiss petition against Reps Deputy Speaker Kalu
Di National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal wey dey Umuahia, Abia State, earlier today, Tuesday, August 22, 2023, dismiss di petition by di candidate of di Labour Party, Chief Frank Chinasa, wey dey find way to nullify di election of Deputy Speaker of di House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu.
Also, di three-man tribunal, inside unanimous judgment wey Chairman, Justice Samson Paul Gang read, dismiss di petition for lack of merit.
Kalu represents Bende federal constituency for House of Reps.
Usman claim say Kalu no dey qualified because hin no get di educational requirements as provided for in Section 65(2)(a) of di 1999 Constitution.
Also, hin argue say Kalu use different names for different educational certificates, other than Kalu Benjamin Okezie, wey be hin current name.

In addition, di counsel claim say di Form EC9, wey Kalu submit to di Independent National Electoral Commission carry di name “Osisiogu Benjamin Okezie”.
