Prices of foodstuffs continue to increase for Enugu major markets
Prices of some foodstuffs, particularly tomatoes, palm oil and cassava flakes, we dey known as garri, don continue to increase for Enugu major markets, according to di News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
A NAN correspondent, wey conduct market survey for Enugu on Monday, report say di prices of foodstuffs increase between April and May.
NAN reports say big basket of tomatoes na between N55,000 and N60,000 in May as against between N36,000 and N45,000 wey dem sel am in April.
A visit to some markets ifor di state capital show say only four balls of tomatoes go for N400 as against di previous price of N200 while half of 4.5-litre paint bucket of tomatoes dey go for N3,000 now.

Miss Ogechukwu Uwakwe, tomato seller at Garki Market, yarn say because of di high price of di produce, she no fit buy full basket but she share with another tomato buyer so dat she go get something to sell for her shop.
Another seller for di New Market, yarn say she don stop to dey sell tomatoes for the moment until di price of di produce reduce.
According to her, di cost of transportation and off-season of most agricultural produce na di reason for di high cost of most foodstuffs for di city.
Also, the price of palm oil continued to increase for major markets within di Enugu metropolis.
Mrs Edith Ofor, one palm oil seller for Garki Market, yarn say 25 litres of palm oil na for N25,000 now as against N18,000 in April.
Mr Joseph Ekwueme, garri dealer for Ogbete Market, yarn say bag of garri na for N36,000 now as against N22,000 in early April.
