Edo: Oshiomhole, Ihonvbere don win for election tribunal
Di National/State Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal wey dey Benin don support di victory of Sen. Adams Oshiomhole for di Feb. 25 Edo North Senatorial District election.
Also, di tribunal support di election of Rep Ihonvbere Julius of di APC, representing Owan Federal Constituency.
Di three-man tribunal, wey Justice O.A. Chuioke lead, dismiss di petition filed by former Senator, Francis Alimikhena of di PDP for lack of merit.
Alimikhena, through hin counsel, Mr Rasak Isenalume, bin petition against di former governor of di state, Sen Oshiomhole, alongside INEC and APC, for di suit NO: EPT/ED/SEN/02/2023.
Di 1st petitioner Alimikhena, for his petition, ask di tribunal say make dem declare null and void di election of Oshiomhole over non compliance with di provisions of di Electoral Act, 2022, as required by law and make dem declare am winner of di election.
Also, hin encourage di tribunal make dem nullify di election of di former APC National Chairman on alleged non transmission of election results through the use of BIVAS machine to IREV Portal.

Alimikhena, on di other hand dey pray make di tribunal order for rerun of di election because of substantial non-compliance with di law.
But for dia separate responses, counsels to di respondents suggest to di tribunal make dem dismiss di case of di petitioners for lack of merit.
Delivering di unanimous judgement on behalf of di tribunal, di Chairman, Justice Alero Akeredolu, maintain say di petitioners fail woefully to prove dia case. In addition, hin add say dem no go rely on weakness or strength of di respondents to prove dia cases against Oshiomhole.
Also, Justice Akeredolu yarn say di petitioners fail to tender before di tribunal any relevant document to prove a case of non-compliance wey dey inside dia petitions.
