ASUU (Academic Staff Union of Universities) don talk say lecturers dey resign these days because of plenty wahala, like poor salary wey dem dey pay late, allowances wey dem no dey pay, bad infrastructure, and lack of respect for lecturers for academic community. The Chairman of ASUU for University of Ibadan, Professor Ayo Akinwole, talk say public universities dey inside serious yawa, as lecturers dey see stress and frustration for their faces. Akinwole yan say Vice Chancellors no fit employ new staff on their own, dem gats contact Abuja for approval and e fit take six months to one year or even more before dem get the approval. E talk say during dis time, the best candidates don waka go another country wey dey respect quality.

E say the situation don reach level wey some universities fit no fit replace lecturers wey don comot because of say dem dey manage small budget. Dem come dey call for urgent action to fix the wahala and make sure say universities get qualified lecturers wey go fit improve the quality of education.
