ASUU: Make Dem Give Students Grants, No Be Loans!
ASUU wey dey for Bauchi State don talk again say dem no want student loans, make dem give grants instead to fund students’ education.
Di Bauchi Coordinator of ASUU, Associate Professor Lazarus Maigoro, talk dis one as dem give scholarship to 19 undergraduates wey dey struggle for money for the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi.
Prof. Maigoro talk say, “The question be: who go fit pay this loan? Wetin go happen to those wey no go fit collect am? The wahala wey go dey disturb students psychologically because of loan while dem dey study go spoil their performance.
“The fear say dem go graduate with loan wey pass N4 million and dem no go fit pay back na another wahala for their mind.”

E talk say the Bauchi zone of ASUU dey work to gather the number of students wey fit waka comot from school after this session finish. Dem dey hope say if government see the number wey go drop out, e fit make dem change their mind about the loan matter and decide to give grants instead.
