Ex-lawmaker don give warning Against War With Niger

Former member of di House of Representatives, Ex-lawmaker, Honourable Robinson Uwak, don advise President Bola Tinubu and di Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) against war with Niger Republic over di political issue for di kontri.

Hin tok dis one against di backdrop of pledge of readiness by troops of member-states to join di standby force wey dey set up to invade di French-speaking country over refusal to reverse di coup wey remove President Mohamed Bazoum from office. Also, di troops make di pledge for meeting for Accra, Ghana, last Thursday.

But Uwak, inside statement yesterday, yarn say no need to sustain di diplomatic channels wey dey opened with di junta wey General Abdourahamane Tchiani dey lead, and to agree on timelines for di return to democratic government.

Also, hin commend former Head of State and di chairman of di National Peace Committee, General Abdulsalami Abubakar as hin make himself available to engage Niger military rulers and to explore di channels of dialogue despite say dem turn am back during hin first visit.
