NNPC in ‘locked pact’ to supply Dangote refinery crude oil for 20 years.


The Nigerian government dey talk say dem get high hope for Dangote Refinery.

Dem say e go help solve the petroleum importation challenge wey dey ground. E get hope for other plenty things too, even as people dey fear because of oil glut as Naija dey move to clean energy. Nigeria go still fit sell refiner wey no be government get for at least 20 years.

To do this, the government don locked down a right-of-first-refusal agreement with the company, and na Nigeria go get 20 per cent of the company.

The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Mele Kyari, talk this one on Tuesday for Abuja. He say Naija go stop to dey refine fuel by mid of 2023.

He say the combination of output from the Dangote Refinery, wey dey don plan to start next year, go help “stop any importation of petroleum products inside the country for the mid of 2023.”

“Even if all our four refineries for three locations dey operate for 90 per cent of installed capacity, na only 18 million litres of petrol dem go fit raise” Na wetin e talk be this.
